Thank GOD! I was driving when I heard journalists saying Jacob Rees-Mogg was just "gaffe prone" so I'm so glad to find it's trending now, so I'm not the only one horrified by that.

Let's be really clear about this:
A State official, like Jacob Rees-Mogg, who says that poor people who the State effectively doused with petrol then ordered to stay put while they burned to death, lacked the common sense to defy State orders, is not "gaffe prone"... They're morally vacant.
Anyone questioning my use of the "doused with petrol" analogy...
A group of people begged not to be literally covered in something flammable, and it was done to them anyway. news.sky.com/story/grenfell…

Them: Just want out from their control.
Me: But Johnson's deal includes "comprehensive deep regulatory cooperation" which mean following EU laws with no say.
Them: But it's the right direction.
Me: It's the opposite of what you just said!
As a I always say. Most Leavers aren't like this. But when I meet this type... We literally got to a point where I said "but that means less control" and she said "fine".
I've just left the family event as a direct consequence.
Our country is on a knife edge and that mentality may just push us over the edge into years of negotiations... And given that the negotiations so far have gone great and certainly haven't been a historic national humiliation from which we may never recover... more years of that?!

Remember as a kid when you assumed the leaders of a country would be the best people in that country?!
With all the resignations due to attacks, bullying and scandals, I can really see what @frankieboyle was talking about...
But at the same time, it should make you accept that you're not going to get the A-Team government in the election but #GE19 isn't about the MPs.
It's about whether we spend the next 5-10 years tackling regional inequality and climate change, or negotiating with the EU and Trump.

Has the Government published its negotiation strategy for the LONG TERM deal with the EU? No.
Do they have one? No.
Will the Tories agree a strategy and negotiate a permanent trade deal in the 12 months before December 2020 when negotiating the transition period took 3 years? No.
What does "facilitating movement of goods across" via "comprehensive... deep regulatory... cooperation" sound like to you?

Sounds to me like the government is signing us up to have the same laws as the EU so that goods can cross borders without checks. assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/upl…
Only thanks to Brexit, we'll no longer have control over those laws. #TakeBackControl

I’m at an event in Westminster by Brexit ultras the Bruges Group, and look who’s here to greet us...
Behind me at the Bruges Group event two attendees are vigorously condemning Jacob Rees-Mogg for considering supporting Theresa May’s deal. “This is the worst political moment in my lifetime - in fact for 200 years!” one booms.

This really is a gathering of the true believers.
At the event we will hear from Conservative MPs Suella Braverman and Christopher Chope. These are the people who will *never* support May’s deal.

Behind me the disgruntled attendees are now calling the PM “Agent May”, saying she has deliberately scuppered Brexit.

Intriguing but *absolutely unfounded* conspiracy theory:
Remember the fuss Jacob Rees-Mogg made around his no confidence letter? The media scrum outside Parliament? He must have been VERY sure that his was "the one" that would push the numbers over the top, right? Otherwise why,
as the main face of the ERG, would he bother to go to such a pantomime? It serves only to make him look weak.

But we also know that the 1922 chap in charge of all these hot potato letters checks regularly with senders to make sure they don't want to take them back. So what if
Boris Johnson got onto his private Whatsapp channel (or whatever) with his best buddies, saying "Get ready. As soon as JRM puts his letter in, ask for yours back. Let's hang him out to dry."

The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.

Jacob Rees-Mogg won't be affected by a no Deal Brexit. He's very rich. Negative impacts are for the little people.
Mogg has been ideologically against the EEC/EU since his gilded childhood. That's also an important detail. I doubt he has ever questioned his conviction - which is born out of a longing for the past and the Edwardian era - any more than he has questioned his God.
And I say this as someone who *was* Jacob Rees-Mogg. So don't you dare question me.
