We often say that climate change is a very hard issue to address because it's long-term, global and relatively invisible. However, health damage from air pollution doesn't have these issues: it's quick, local and measurable 1/

This is a very big, very bad deal. This study by Nodhaus et al — which only considered the health costs of air pollution — found that in a number of industries these costs are a large fraction of the industry's value added, and sometimes exceeds it 3/ aeaweb.org/articles?id=10…

So there's nothing subtle about this: Trumpian crony capitalism is going to sicken and kill thousands of Americans. 5/
