1/ The need for unity against the right-wing and the protagonism-seeking nitpickers: there are only two sides. Pick one.

2/ It showed up on my timeline yesterday, it was an obvious misunderstanding on their part and I committed the mortal sin of not checking the person's profile, their MO and attitudes.
3/ The result was a profanity-filled attack against me (for explaining that the attack against Kruse was unreasonable) and the person recruiting others to pile on.
4/ I have a screenshot of everything they wrote and everything I wrote. Usually, I don't do that: I just block and forget.
5/ This case happened when we - a group of Brazilian social scientists - are debating the many approaches to the contemporary erosion of democracy and the rise of the far-right.
6/ This swarm attack over nothing (I've seen attacks on people who buy on thrift stores by others who decide they are entitled to thrift stores and anyone else is robbing them of their protagonism, serious) is extremely divisive.
7/ I've seen it too many times to count. I wonder if this is not a an illustration of the microphysics of divisiveness. Why? Because they are too many and too vocal.
8/ Please, don't generalize. Don't look at this and dismiss it as "oh, it's the dumb radical left", or "it's the left". It's NOT the left. This is a fringe that orbits the civil rights, democratic and anti-fascist movements, and causes and needs attention.
9/ When you see this, please don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. We still need to unite against very real dark forces moving fast against everything we know as Civilization.
