incoming Fernandez government in Argentina will not take IMF loan instalment to avoid austerity that IMF demands.
pagina12.com.ar/233160-alberto…
seems Fernandez is listening to @Martin_M_Guzman - who sensibly proposes debt renegotiations to suspend interest and principal payments for next two years, and use the space to restart the economy.
shouldn't Argentina take IMF money & pay debtors to reconstruct credibility (Macri already lost market access):
1. IMF program already helped tank the economy.
2. Civil unrest across Latin America gives Peronism legitimacy to reject IMF austerity.
Fernandez says the priority of the new government is to vaccinate children again (!!!), to restart consumption and credit to productive activities.
