First question was from the pre-AMA announcement tweet. I'll copy it here:
People tend to talk about agencies like they have a personality, but there are thousands of people all over the political spectrum. There are some I know who tend to be Trump apologists, but they are in the VAST majority, and even they tend to "hold their nose." (cont.)
CORRECTION: In the previous tweet I meant that the Trump apologists are in the MINORITY. The VAST majority range from discomfort at what is going on in the White House and politics in general, to abject embarrassment being associated with it. (cont.)
But almost everyone across DOJ and the DOJ components are career employees, NOT political appointees. We tend to avoid talking politics at work as a rule, and just focus on the job. But there are certainly side comments and talk among those who know each other well (cont.)
And I'd sum it up by saying we're collectively hurt by the attacks on DOJ, FBI, the Intel Community, etc. We are professionals though, and many could make more money outside gov't. We are here because we want to be here, and do our jobs, and serve the nation (cont.)
We're determined to, and everyone I work with & know focuses entirely on what is right and wrong, and what we should be doing. The AG is supposed to be apolitical, and our current one is not. He will have limited abilities to steer the entire organization. They/we have integrity
