It is apparently child abuse to point out that Donald Trump is not a king.

After all the garbage the right rained down on Chelsea Clinton when she was a minor and then Sasha and Malia Obama, this is where they drawn the line for decency, apparently?

All the Trump Monarchists in my mentions saying no one went after Chelsea Clinton when she was a minor: you're not getting individual responses, but she was THIRTEEN when Rush Limbaugh called her "the White House dog". Look it up.

Eight years of every right-wing personality with an axe to grind calling the daughters of Democratic presidents ugly and unlovable, but tell Donald Trump he's not a king and so his family's not nobility and that's out of bounds?

No. Because all the wrongs are on the same side. Nobody said anything about Barron.

Look. We all know Donald has secret kids, but Barron's not one of them. His existence is already known.

I am not going to play this game where Democrats are supposed to avoid even the ~*appearance*~ of scandal -- ooh, nooo, Barron's sacred name was mentioned -- while Republicans do literally whatever they want and it doesn't matter what it looks like.

We keep hearing about how "it doesn't pass the smell test" that Hunter Biden got a cushy job and you know, basically every Democrat asked agrees it was a bad idea on his part. But no actual wrongdoing is ever pointed to.

Imagine if "the smell test" existed for Republicans.

The big defense that the GOP is pinning their hopes on is to keep moving the goalposts on what is a "smoking gun" and say that the Democrats are trying to impeach based on "presumption" and "appearance".

But presumption and appearance are enough to go after Democrats, always.

Hundreds of hours of investigation, 11 hours of testimony from the woman herself, and Republicans have turned up NOT ONE THING Clinton did wrong on Benghazi but they want to hang her anyway because it looks bad. Because it smells. Because they presume.

Meanwhile, we have Trump's confession. We have the redacted/edited transcript he himself released, which confirms the details. We hae Mick Mulvaney agreeing. We have witness after witness verifying the whistleblower complaint.

We have Trump obstructing witnesses who can supposedly exonerate him from testifying, while his complicit Congressional cronies bang on about how the Democrats won't call anyone with direct knowledge.

Does that look good? Does that pass the smell test, Republicans?

Nobody... absolutely nobody including the boy's mother herself... thinks that the witness said anything untoward about Barron. They just know that it's close enough for the always-offended Outrage Mob fueled by the mainstream media (yes, Fox is mainstream) to spring into action.

#DonaldIsNotAKing. His youngest known child's name is not some sacred holy word that no one dares to speak. Barron. Barron. Barron.

If Republicans had to play by the rules they impose on others, they'd be an extinct party. Period.
