Opening the session on impeachment articles, Judiciary Dems have to a person explained where they come from, how the constitution have them opportunity, and why, because of that, they will defend it as their oath requires.

Repubs read something someone else wrote, badly. /1
Repubs like to go on about the rich elite or whatever -- but the Judiciary Dems include immigrants, police, schoolteachers.

Repubs are basically the same person, plus 2 women, who are also the same people. /2
The stark differential -- between understanding what the constitution is for individuals, versus a pack mentality that confers a sense of security that allows you to dismiss the importance of the constitution -- is in plain view. /3

Important context for today's Senate nonsense:

- FSB officers tried to develop Carter Page as an asset
- the FBI warned Page about this
- he continued to pursue a relationship with the Russians in question
- this is documented in court/arrest records

So I mean, GEE WHIZ, I wonder why the FBI was concerned his presence and renewed connections to Moscow in the context of being named as an adviser to candidate Trump -- because of course this raised double red flags.

He wasn't some innocent.
And let's remember again:

People who spent their careers pursuing Russian organized crime and conducting counterintelligence operations against Russia in the US have been systematically targeted, discredited, smeared, and fired by POTUS.

1: I’ve watched every episode of @NailedIt & to claim that Nicole Byer is only nice to black contestants is frankly a lie. However, even if that were the case, consider that this is a highly edited reality TV show which means editors choose which parts of her behavior we see.
2: Mr. Flores seems to lack a fundamental understanding of what #racism is so let’s review, shall we? Racism is fundamentally a belief that one’s own race is superior, however, in critical race theory, scholars also assert that racism must be combined with systemic power to work.

I lost over 100 followers this week standing up for WOC being attacked by white women.
I'm sorry to have lost them because it means those folks missed the point.
White people have an obligation to POC in America because of the damage #racism inflicts even if we aren't #racist.

Acknowledging our flaws goes against ego.
But it's essential.
I know I am a strong person with strong Socialist politics.
I know I can be intense.
But I am a fiundamentally kind person who doesn't want to hurt people.

At times I know I <have> hurt people--we all have.
And that is my point: If people tell you you have hurt them, listen.
I don't mean casual snark, but hurt.
Listen.
Say you are sorry.
Repentance is under-utilized and under-valued, and that's not just my Catholicism talking.
