1. The Commission rightly recognizes that the #JustTransition needs to be fair for everyone:
➡️people suffering from the impacts of climate change & a lack of climate action
➡️people negatively affected by climate policy

2. The fund will support the regions and sectors most affected by the transition. Yes, you read that right! It’s not only about #coal. This is important because reducing emissions in other sectors will also have consequences for workers and communities. 👏👏
3. Support will be conditional on "promoting a transition towards low-carbon and climate-resilient activities". So those countries who have so far missed planning for a coal phase out need to do so now ⏰ #beyondcoal: beyond-coal.eu/coal-exit-trac… @EurBeyondCoal
@EurBeyondCoal 4. No matter how much money will be allocated to the #JustTransitionFund, it will not pay for Europe’s transition. The entire EU budget has to support #ClimateNeutralEU and frameworks to deliver #netzero investments are key (#sustainablefinanceEU).
