It's not clear to me why we're giving - actually giving - public assets to Amazon. So I've asked the EU to force Amazon to pay for them. thetimes.co.uk/article/lawyer…

I get asked a lot by young lawyers what they can do to help: eg should they abandon training contracts in the City? I tend to suggest they go and get the training they need to be really useful - but critically to keep their expenses down so they're not owned by their lifestyle.
Live to have the space to be the person you want. You'll find it much more rewarding in all the ways that really matter.

The threats come in battalions. An enormous majority. A divided opposition. A national broadcaster operating under an existential warning. A Prime Minister already advertising a populist intent as “The People’s Government”.
Where will challenge come from? Not the House of Lords – which was served notice in the Conservative Manifesto that its role would be reviewed. And the only higher law that constrains a Government with a majority in Parliament is EU law – and leaving the EU means abandoning that.
We have a populist Government, with no one else to constrain it, which has shown a propensity to treat the law as an inconvenience, and which has issued multiple explicit challenges to the judiciary.

Just received an email from a very prominent member of the Remain community asking me whether "if the election goes the wrong way for us" it could be voided on the basis of Laura Kuenssberg's remarks.
However convinced you may be that 'the people' have got it wrong, democracy means accepting that it's for them to choose. And if you doubt democracy is up the task then at least have the moral courage to come out and argue for that position.
(And I know what you'll say - but you're wrong. The cases I've brought have all been about preserving the right of our elected Parliament to fill the space that our elected Parliament left for itself when it enacted an advisory Referendum in 2015.

Reminder, Turkey is the 2nd largest member of NATO and has been a member since 1957. This predates Erdogan's government. One of the main objectives for the Russian state is to break-up NATO.

The current crisis in N.E. Syria aims to remove Turkey and flip it towards Russia.
This thread will monitor any NATO related news or movements created in relation to the N.E. Syria invasion. And if Russia will succeed in breaking the alliance.
