So I had a nerve conduction study today to find out why a couple of my fingers have gone numb. Oddly enough, the test said it was merely borderline for the likely cause of that numbness, but I really had another problem, one I perceive no symptoms of
and he said the reaction and sensitivity tests showed a problem, the nerve conduction confirmed the problem. He said I have probably had the symptoms (numbness, pain) so long I no longer perceive them. It is true that if I focus, my fingertips feel less sensitive than they should
And I think you can only perceive so much pain at a time, so other pains probably make the fingers negligible, but it's hard to believe I have become so habituated I can't perceive it when I think about it
