One beautiful (yet devastating) irony of Brexit, which I've learned our here:
Without Free Movement, the 25,000 Brits who work in the hotel industry across Europe now, just won't be there.
So Brits who go on holiday will have to start learning European languages a lot more!
I know it's irrelevant now but We've had 3 major democratic events since the referendum was called and I'm STILL learning new information about the impact of this thing.
One more bit of fun... That's 25,000 mostly young jobs that Boris Johnson will need to replace.
The UK is currently around the middle of the pack when it comes to European youth unemployment... Currently...

Well if you're wondering why faith in the UK media is so low...
When asked whether Britain is racist in the UK, @stormzy replied "Yeah, 100%" and that is being reported as "Stormzy says Britain is 100% racist".
The irony is... Exaggerating complaints of racism in order to discredit those who complain about racism, by implying they're just sensitive snowflakes, is a tactic used to justify more racism...
A tactic used by... RACISTS..

I originally wrote "whether there is racism in the UK" then went to verify that that's what was asked and didn't get rid of all of the words when correcting it.

Before we enter this trade war, I want everyone to be clear.
1 in 7 cars made in Germany are sold to the UK.
Over half of cars made in the UK are sold to EU countries.

Have you ever tried to fight someone by ramming your throat into their knee? Who won?
So here what's about to happen. The UK will ask for zero tariffs on UK sales to the EU but without committing to follow EU rules. Because a deregulated UK would be at an economic advantage, the EU will say no.
This and the resulting damage will be reported as the EU punishing us.
Try to blame the Remainers? We have no power over the EU or government.
Try to blame the EU? For the direct consequences of your own vote? When I've been screaming ⬇️THIS⬇️ for years?

One of the bizarre notions of #Brexit voters is that paying x billion into EU to run the common market gives EU consumers a duty to buy British products rather than an opportunity to market UK exports.
This British delusion about how trade works is illustrated by Brexit voting idiots saying stuff like “we pay 40m for a trade deficit of 150m”. They confuse foreign trade with buying things abroad. Producing and marketing stuff that foreign consumers actually want is beyond them.
The same delusion is at work when British politicians mention “the ability to strike our own trade deals”. Leavers think that somehow all that is required is a Doctor’s note from a disgraced Defense Secretary and instantly trade starts flowing to those foreign far flung countries

2) Today, Tory Fibs, a leading Labour commentator put out a summary of the Labour Brexit position. Other than a Veto on EU trade deals & no controls on state aid it reflects the position put forward by all Labour spokespeople

3) the last people to talk about Single Market "access" were Johnson, Gove & the Vote Leave campaign. It was used to lie to people, to pretend that we could get the same benefits inside as well as outside the EU

Should be read by *everyone* however I'll pull out a few key points in this thread

2) the UK already had the best deal of all EU member states. We may not have believed it but the other 27 nations did.
Anyone who thinks about this for more than 5 minutes would realise this
Cameron in fact managed to improve it further, but the press torpedoed his deal
3) the 4 freedoms are seen as indivisible by the EU27. Trucks & money having more rights to move than people is absolutely unacceptable to them. That's just a fact.
Anyone, Labour or Tory, who tells you we can get a great deal without free movement of people is lying to you

1) Thread - All Brexits are bad and what we voted for
It's often said by brexiters that "it's not all about economics"
However, the *actual* Leave campaign was almost wholly about economic arguments

With the leak of this 2-8% report those arguments are now trashed
2) We seem to have forgotten this however economics played a huge part in the Vote Leave campaign, making up over 2/3rds of the primary arguements. The clear message was we would at the least be no worse off and at best much better off. 4 of the 6 below state this clearly
3) & the fact is voters believed we would be no worse off. People prioritized immigration certainly, but against a backdrop of there being no consequences from Brexit - few are prepared to actually pay for ending FoM
