Trump's real danger is not racism or culture war nonsense that Nigerian "conservatives" eat up as the idiots they are.

It's that is that he's providing a template for how to hack democracy using the most successful democracy as a guinea pig.

Dictators are watching and learning.

He has taken a 150 year-old democracy and completely subverted it in just three years. He has rigged court benches and his party has enabled gerrymandering to basically create a system of minority rule.

Budding dictators from Abuja to Dodoma are taking notes.

The new dictatorship of the 21st century won't be in military clothes - it won't need to. It will have elections and courts and constitutions and all the paraphernalia of a functioning democracy.

But Trump has showed his brethren how to hack all of this and get what they want.

Want to be a dictator? No need to go through the hassle of policing everyone. Just find 100 or so people who will remain loyal to death and then stuff your parliament with them through gerrymandering and targeted purging of voter registers in opposition areas.

Find one issue that is guaranteed to override the common sense of a significant minority of the population, like bigotry and/or racism, and then have your own version of Fox News pumping that shit nonstop into the minds of these people so they're fired up and militant always.

Whenever anyone tries to organise a democratic process to oppose you, send this media attack dog after them and tear them from limb to limb. Put out the message that an attack on you is an attack on the country.

The militant minority will push through anything you want.

Abolish term limits? They'll do it.

Amend the constitution for whatever reason? Yes.

Redefine citizenship and immigration laws? They will do it.

Interfere with separation of powers? They'll make it happen.

All this "democratically."

This is why I am afraid of Donald Trump.
