Thread 4. Deconstructing #KimSoHyun. In JDY's words, KSH is his "best co-star" that anyone "can't help but like." This is a testament of Sso's superb talent, work professionalism, and JDY's personal admiration of Sso being a “strongly driven” actress. In fact, anyone who has been
a serious fan of Sso need not know JDY’s words because that’s just who Kim So Hyun is. Even KSH acknowledged this side of her to a point she referred to herself as a WORKAHOLIC. You can check the 1st radio interview by JEJ where Sso recommends the song Workaholic by Bolbbalgan4.
What’s interesting here is JDY’s surprised reaction: JDY opening his mouth and nodding as if it was his first time to know this side of Sso. And he should be surprised. I mean, Sso is still 21 and she just openly declares she loves working and feels refreshed (or healed)
when she’s busy. And this MATURE side of her is important to understand because it tells us how she views and conducts herself, especially on how she regulates her relationships. What I mean here is Sso’s apparent lack of love interests is caused by her own conviction that she
doesn’t need one. Our girl here is actually a modern Ice Queen, rivaling Queen Elsa, that she can be so cool about the messy stuffs of life (e.g. love stuff). Sso is just so secure about herself! And why not? She has a great personality, and a matching angelic beauty, to boot.
Her natural innocence and considerate personality just radiate through and through her whole being that you can’t help but be drawn to her and be comfortable with who she truly is. No doubt JDY described her as “kind, fluffy, and pure”. Sso is just cute with her raw expressions
that we can't get enough of her. Even the silliest blunders of hers we so welcome and feast on because they please and make us smile without really understanding why. And TBH, we're okay with that. HAHAHAHA. But make no mistake here. Even though KSH gives off the girlish,
innocent, and pure image, she is both SMART and CONFIDENT. In other words, she understands herself best. KSH is sooo introspective that she’s able to know what she feels and feel what she knows. She knows when to be serious and be playful. When she's playful, she can be witty.
When she's serious, she’s able to communicate her deepest thoughts and feelings (e.g. KSH sharing own crisis when she was 18 and 19 in an interview) with stunning accuracy and straightforward honesty. She’s also a great empathizer, really knows how to handle herself when her and
other people’s feelings are involved. (See what her co-stars say about her when they seek her help) In other words, she’s able to interact with and react to other people effectively because she somehow understands their complex psychology. And the actress that she is now is due
to this exceptional ability of hers of understanding people intuitively and her own hard work. (I think her experience in Moon Embracing The Sun of which she somehow felt alienated as an actor because of her villain role was the catalyst of her kindness and thoughtfulness.
Following her train of thought, Sso doesn't want others to experience what she had experienced. Also explains why she's attentive to her second leads. TBH, she's really worthy of admiration.)
