If this is why any candidate wins the nomination, Trump will win by more than Bush did in 2004
A candidate who will motivate progressive minded voters is far more likely to win. Just support the candidate you like instead of the one your mythical Republican uncle will supposedly back.
This is weirdly so hard for Democrats to understand. Just pick who you like. Republicans did it in 2000 and 2016. Democrats did it in 1992 and 2008. When both parties get too “smart” about picking their nominee they lose (2004, 2012).
