Said this on today's broadcast:

If you are a white woman who is planning on this year's Women's March, but you don't canvass, phone bank, text bank or register people do vote, you're still sitting in your privilege.

Feel-good marching isn't going to win 2020. Hard work will.
*to vote*

still waiting on #editbutton2020
This is my point. Also, you can text bank & write postcards to voters at home, or wherever. Just showing up to march does not move the needle.

This yr, America & the planet are on the line, and we ALL must do things outside our comfort zone to make it.

Compelled to add this: if you think this post is "shaming," you are sitting in white fragility.

Think about toddlers who spent Christmas in detention camps without their parents if you're tempted to respond that way.
Ask yourself what's more painful: four more years of that, leading to far worse? Or some postcards from your couch because all of us can do more?

I know we're all tired, and many are struggling. And no one reading this is breastfeeding their kid through a detention camp fence.
This isn't shaming. It's real talk about where we are, and WW feeling insulted when they're asked to show up outside their comfort zones in ways that POC have been doing for decades and that save lives.

This is what allyship looks like.
We need to do the work, and we need to do it more than ever.

Even if it means having your neighbors over for pizza and postcards or committing to two hours canvassing once a month.

Even if it feels like a pain in the ass. Even if we're tired.

PS. We don't know tired, really.
Tired is still fighting back 400 years after the first slave ship arrived in America.

All of this nation is on the line. All of it. This year.

It's TIME.
(bad grammar, sorry. Allyship is showing up, not complaining that your feeling shamed for being asked to show up.)
you're! ARGH.

Sorry folks I've been writing all day.
Gonna make this even more clear.

Showing up to a march in a pussy hat with a sign is not "doing something."

IT DOES NOT MOVE THE NEEDLE.

Yr nghbors who didn't vote in 2016 don't care that you're in a hat w/ a sign.

What matters is talking to them about WHY THEY SHOULD VOTE.
And let me just add one other thing: the GOP has made it abundantly clear that they don't care how many of us are in the streets.

This is not Hong Kong.

What they care about is whether they will be ousted from power.
And the only way that happens is by voter turnout in numbers too big to be fucked with.

And the only way THAT happens is by grassroots, ground-game organizing and mobilization.

We HAVE to stop letting each other off the hook.
