If you are a white woman who is planning on this year's Women's March, but you don't canvass, phone bank, text bank or register people do vote, you're still sitting in your privilege.
Feel-good marching isn't going to win 2020. Hard work will.
This yr, America & the planet are on the line, and we ALL must do things outside our comfort zone to make it.
Think about toddlers who spent Christmas in detention camps without their parents if you're tempted to respond that way.
I know we're all tired, and many are struggling. And no one reading this is breastfeeding their kid through a detention camp fence.
This is what allyship looks like.
Even if it means having your neighbors over for pizza and postcards or committing to two hours canvassing once a month.
Even if it feels like a pain in the ass. Even if we're tired.
PS. We don't know tired, really.
All of this nation is on the line. All of it. This year.
It's TIME.
Sorry folks I've been writing all day.
Showing up to a march in a pussy hat with a sign is not "doing something."
IT DOES NOT MOVE THE NEEDLE.
Yr nghbors who didn't vote in 2016 don't care that you're in a hat w/ a sign.
What matters is talking to them about WHY THEY SHOULD VOTE.
This is not Hong Kong.
What they care about is whether they will be ousted from power.
And the only way THAT happens is by grassroots, ground-game organizing and mobilization.
We HAVE to stop letting each other off the hook.
