I am also no fan of Trump who is the latest US president - GOP & Democrat - whose wars & fuckery in the MidEast stretch so far back it’s difficult to say where it begins.
I don’t think Americans fully grasp the horror of war. There hasn’t been a war within US borders since the Civil War (?) Its soldiers - now mostly the children of the poor & people of colour - have been sent to fight other children of the poor & people of colour across the world.

#SamarBadawi, a #Saudi activist who was arrested several times. She is behind bars since July 2018, during the crackdown on female activists who were calling for women’s right to drive & to end the male guardianship system. Samar faced various violations & ill-treatment.
She was banned from any kind of contact with the outside, even with her family & lawyers, faced verbal abuse & sexual harassment, & tortured with electric shocks. She is now in jail over her calls for laws which has been amended! #ReleasePrisonersOfConscience

First was Gandhi imprisoned for 15 years let alone solitary confinement as claimed by RG? NO!

He spent nowhere near that time in prison. This from a Gandhi research foundation site, which would be considered sympathetic towards him and his thoughts.
10th Jan 1908,was when he was first arrested. Convicted and sentenced to two months simple imprisonment without any hard labour.
He backtracked after little more than two weeks and agreed to voluntary registration post which they were released. Pp.66-67 Gandhi's passion S.Wolpert

- Saudi support for the Kingdom of Yemen during the 1962 Republican revolution. Imam Ahmad bin Yahya was dethroned because of corruption and for transforming the legitimate imamate into a monarchy. What followed was 5 years of brutal civil war.
