Ballpark about 100 people attending. Many more than yesterday
Forest management update: still working on clearing tree hazards in Genoa. Road “Make-safe” work for emergency services use *only*. Working their way further north to more isolated communities
Some urgency being given to establishing access to comms towers, Maramingo and others.
More warm days are coming but stressing risk to Mallacoota is low because most of our fuel is burnt.
Health now: Asbestos and smoke risks being revisited and a reminder about personal and food hygiene in the absence of hot water.
Being encouraged to make use of menta health services being brought in - more on that later
Police encouraging people to make use of local businesses as a preference over using the “free” emergency food supplies.
No new information about roads. Police say some people have tried to “run the gauntlet” up to Genoa and been trapped on the road by fallen trees
Fuel update: they are aware of the situation. They are “trying” to get supplies in but no information available about progress or timing.
Council is out dredging bastion point, again, just in case any any heavy road clearing machinery becomes available to land there
