Just finished watching this amazing romcom series on @Netflix. Highly recommend. The basic plot line is this introverted store manager falls for this girl after she comes into his store.
1/
Ultimately he helps her become a best selling author, but not before several episodes that follow them through their on-again/off-again love affair. The hijinks are pretty funny — his love is perhaps over-protective at times, but he very sincerely looks out for her.
2/
I don’t want to spoil anything, but her so-called boyfriend is terrible for her, and he eventually helps her see this, as well as helping the boyfriend see the errors of his own ways. Lots of good ideas for guys in the friendzone.
3/
Ultimately he even befriends the ex-boyfriend and invites him to a sensory deprivation retreat that his childhood mentor taught him about.

But of course HER friends don’t like him (one of the more cliche plot lines tbh, but 🤷🏻‍♂️), and of course they try to drive him off.
4/
One of her friends even tries to kill him after he catches her stalking her — some friend. Thankfully he escapes that situation and helps her see how she’s been caught in toxic relationships her entire life.
5/
His selfless love for her is a breath of fresh air that you don’t see authentically portrayed in stories much anymore.

Well, you can’t fix some women, and she continues sabotaging their relationship through more jealousy and insecurity.
6/
They try to make it work and seek counseling, and ironically (!!) end up seeing the same counselor before patching things up. For awhile.

She can’t leave well enough alone and ends up breaking his trust again by snooping through some of his keepsakes. Ugh.

Well, I don’t want to spoil anymore, but it’s worth a watch. I think it takes a hard look at the perils of modern dating and how ungrateful toxic women often destroy relationships.
Also shows how awful red heads can be at driving men into self-destructive patterns of behavior.
8/
I’m excited to start season 2. Apparently the main character decides he’s had enough of the toxic women in NYC and moves to LA. (I know, right? Yikes!! Should be fun!)
