In December our network of grassroots community organizations @CPDAction voted to endorse @SenSanders for President. Bernie won 75% of the vote.

In December our network of grassroots community organizations @CPDAction voted to endorse @SenSanders for President. Bernie won 75% of the vote.
I have said many times that I would’ve been honored to work with our members to help nominate and elect ANY of our final 3 choices. I meant that then, and I still mean it today. We would be lucky to have Bernie, Warren or Castro as our Presiden
When they chose to make an endorsement, our members who are mostly black and brown folks who are overwhelmingly no income, fixed income, and working class spoke loudly & clearly.
Since the day of their vote my mission became taking all that I’ve learned in my 20 years of organizing and doing everything I can to help make our affiliates dreams of a progressive president a reality.
A # of moments since then have made clear why our network chose Bernie. Its been shocking 2 me- not how engaged our members have been, but all of the organic, nonorganized conversations I’ve had with people who are not yet members of our affiliates but hopefully 1 day will be
Tonight as I was walking out of my hotel the front desk clerk yelled out to me “Go Sanders”. It was an invitation to find community in each other, he blessed me with his story and I told him about our affiliates in New York and how he could get involved with them.
A few weeks ago, I went over my limit in a parking lot after a rally. The valet say my Sanders shirt & said I’m supposed to charge you $10 but since ur with Bernie it’s on me. He went on to tell me that he & his family are counting on Bernie 2 win & 2 thank me 4 supporting him
That same day the waiter at the restaurant noticed our Sanders shirts and said thank you for supporting Bernie and thank you for making the shirt in English and Spanish, it means a lot to me
These are just three examples of the unprompted gratitude & love hardworking people who make it possible for me to travel, feed myself, and get where I need to go showered me with just for supporting the candidate they believe in.
I believe in their dreams, hopes & aspirations more than I will ever believe in a particular candidate. & if I am blessed 2 keep repeating these incredibly moving interactions throughout the Primary than win or lose I will not regret 1 second I’ve spent in the #notmeus movement
