What exactly has #PhaseOne achieved?
-Both economies have taken a growth hit; China partially more but still manageable
-Yuan is back to where it was
- Debatable whether China can honor the purchase numbers being floated around or even get back

.. to 2017 levels / beyond quickly enough
- major US companies still operating with Huawei exemption (for now)
- has bought China more time to build own tech ecosystems
- SOE subsidy model is not changing (a phase 2 talking pt)
Seems to me that the achievements are that:

1) tariffs can be useful for gaining economic leverage (but to what end?)
2) has placed spotlight firmly on China’s tech transfer / human rights practices- there is bipartisan support here
3) US companies have had to re-evaluate supply chain
