The geographical extent of India as described in the Vishnu Purana. Also note list of Indian mountain ranges are as follows (in order): Eastern Ghats, Nilgiris, Sahyadris (Western Ghats), Aravalis, Satpura, Eastern Vindhyas, & Western Vindhyas.
Also note the geographical distribution of Shakti peethas. They extend from Balochistan to Tripura, Kashmir to Kanyakumari/Jaffna. This not a random distribution. It defined at "holy land" at a time when there were large Hindu communities outside of this zone.
Here is a common mantra that is chanted when taking a ritual bath - it mentions seven rivers: Ganga Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu & Kaveri. Again, this is not a random collection. It defines a sacred geography
