So this is the original NASA logo from 1959. Frankly, there's only so many combinations of rockets, planets, starts, and orbits you can put into "space" logos. If you didn't have the cultural history you'd still design space logos with these elements.

The arrowhead symbol used on Starflleet uniforms was designed by the costume designer for the original pilot episode.

By the way, rockets back then were pretty curved things, like the V2 rocket or rockets you'd see in sci-fi. The Starfleet badge retains the early sci-fi curves.
The Air Force Space Command created a new emblem in 1982. It predates the Starfleet emblem that everyone else is passing around. Star Trek lifted from this as much as Space Force lifted from Star Trek -- if anybody copied anybody else.

I made this sarcastic tweet to mock those mocking the Space Force logo. I thought it was common knowledge that the space shuttle Enterprise actually was named after the Star Trek Enterprise. Apparently, no so common knowledge.
But what I did learn from that thread is that Gene Roddenberry served on the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier in WWII.

In any case, this is a good time to remind people that the the Army Intelligence command center at Fort Belvoir was actually designed by a Star Trek set designer, who was a relative of somebody who worked there.
