#Sekulow is on the minds of many on @Twitter. I've read some things I know to be untrue (Sekulow, for example, was never a dominionist). I've read some things that are truly disturbing but about which I knew up close and personal ... his money-grubbing, for example.

I worked with and for #JaySekulow from 1988 until September 2012. I have some things to say that might interest those who are impressed/revolted by him.

But why should you care or believe anything I say?

First, as I said, I worked w/ and for Jay since 1988. I was fresh out of law school and working for a small nonoprofit law firm representing activists. The first time I worked with him, I and another young attorney drafted a brief for him in case involving @JewsforJesus.

Eventually, #Sekulow asked me to come work for him, and asked me to open an office for his organization, CASE, in Washington, DC. From December 1989 through September 2012, I worked directly for Sekulow, writing his briefs, his Supreme Court petitions, even his press releases.

I was fired.

After having been involuntarily outed as a gay man, I admitted to my employer my lifelong but secretly held orientation. Less than 5 hours later, #Sekulow had hired a tony, high priced law firm in DC, and had them send me an abrupt termination notice.

Not looking for pity ... my secret and my shame was eating me alive and the day that I acknowledged my orientation lifted a burden that had kept me always thinking about suicide.

So, just exactly is #Sekulow?

#Sekulow is sometimes referred to as "Dr. Sekulow."

He graduated from Mercer College of Law with a JD. But after rising to the top of the @ACLJ he decided to obtain a doctoral degree from @RegentU. In fact, his doctoral dissertation became somewhat a problem for me.

You see, while I was teaching a law school class on legal practice, one of my students reported that he, not #Sekulow, had written Jay's doctoral dissertation:

The allegation wasn't that surprising: #Sekulow, during my quarter century of acquaintance and working, almost NEVER did his own research or writing:

#Sekulow's ambition was driving. As a result, sometimes, he did things that made not a lot of sense, so far as litigation choices of the @ACLJ:

Jay's financial scheming and money grubbing has been made legendary by the light of day. He has taken a thousand small steps to hide how the money flows and yet the public knows about his steering of $60 million from a nonprofit to his family and their businesses.

I get why that money grubbing bothers folks.

But I've never understood why anyone would be untroubled by Sekulow's vicious verbal abuse directed toward an elderly female employee:
