Here we go - Dershowitz arguing against impeachment for crimes that are of a "personal nature," not a political one.

Like raping a 12 year old child who was sold to his buddy for their joint abuse?

Mmmmhmmm.
That's why he signed on here.

I, however, would suggest that anyone accused of predatory sexual violence against children is wholly unable to hold any position of power over that individual, as otherwise, it is a violation of the Eight Amendment...
The bar on cruel and unusual punishment can NOT only be a right inherent to criminals and the otherwise accused -

It must also apply to dissidents and victims as well.

No predator must ever be permitted to serve in a position of power over one of their victims.
A violation of the VIII Amendment can be corrected only by removing that individual from office, if the victims so demand.
And a clear constitutional violation of a victims's rights, in that way, based on a crime of a "personal nature" would thusly be a high crime, no matter how far in the past that crime took place...

And impeachment would be the sole remedy to address that violation.
No matter if there is the potential to file state charges or not -
the crime of a victim being subjugated to any power by a federal official who preyed on them is an ONGOING violation of the constitution.

Again, impeachment would be the sole remedy to address that violation.
Now, let's say one of those victims is so threatened that they are forced to flee the country, seeking refuge elsewhere until that elected official is out of office...
Because that victim is the key to Mann act violations + child sex trafficking charges that are within the statute of limitations...
And let's say that the federal official uses the power of his office to both cause harm to those who helped protect his victim, and to attempt to locate said victim too...

Those are abuses of power in concealing violation of the victim's rights, using the weight of govt.
And, although it was before that federal official was sworn in, he started a conspiracy theory accusing others of similar conduct to indoctrinate a set of unstable individuals into a fringe 'movement' to radicalize them and use them as weapons of stochastic terrorism...
Those weapons being leveraged both before and during the official's term to intimidate other victims into silence -

a continuing act.

The sexual assault was the predicating act.
Pizzagate was the conspiracy in furtherance.
And those are DAMN WELL impeachable acts, @alanDersh.

Your arguments are specious.

And guess what?
There's another superseding impeachment in there.
@AlanDersh Though, that said, it still would fit under the charges already levied. That's the benefit of broadly scoped articles of impeachment, I suppose?

And if that evidence doesn't get to be heard, oh boy.
Any senator who doesn't vote to allow witnesses that weren't made to face the house...

ESPECIALLY those who knew of the above-described allegations BEFORE the federal official was permitted to spend 3+ years violating the rights of at least two of his victims...
You'll go down every bit as hard as Denny Boy.

Your secrets will be uncovered.
You're done.

Coll, man?
Oh.

Did I spell "cool" wrong there?
Maybe.

But if there's a reason that you think maybe not, it's your funeral.

Metaphorically, of course.
OH! And I forgot to link this above...

It explains quite a bit that I may have glossed over above.
