.@jasonluan88 @jkenney All 3 of these centers are pay for service centers, with limited subsidies available, unlike recovery beds through AHS.. will these new beds be free to clients or subsidized? Asking because we all know a large issue with seeking recovery is inability to pay
Will they also be providing a detox component or are clients expected to get themselves sober for a period of time before the can be admitted? Again I ask because we know that detox is an important part of the recovery model.. so, is it included with this investment?
Is there a limit as to how long a patient can remain in the care of one of these centers? This would also be relevant to "are" clients getting these beds for free or are you just subsidizing expansion and a few more beds for these centres.. will SK be assisting funding for Lloyd?
Will Fresh Start Recovery be expanding their model to include women or will it remain a mens only centre with this investment?

Why arent the Alberta media asking these questions... fine and dandy to subsidize beds but will people access them if it costs money & are excluded?
What was the process behind choosing these 3 centers over others? Did they have to apply? Was there a tender sent out? What was the criteria for being chosen to receive subsidies? Were stakeholders consulted, Psychiatrists, Doctors, Psychologists, Addiction specialists?
Giving yourselves hero cookies without releasing details, being transparent and providing full context is a bit premature dont you think?
Should be made very clear.. I support all 3 centers and the work they do. I am not attacking them in any way, shape or form.. my questions are valid and expect them to be treated as such.. so please, no spinning my intent or attacking my character...*cough* Matt Wolf *cough*
70% of mental health problems occur in childhood and adolescence... yet you deferred Edmontons childrens mental health facility, ignoring the prevention of dual diagnosis in teens/adulthood. Will you be prioritizing this now or do you still consider it not of importance?
Before anyone @s me that free recovery services dont work, that the client needs to invest $ to make it work I will call you out... proving your spin theory to avoid including this into primary care has been debunked. Show you are committed by making real change, not a smoke show
If subsidized.. How much does this decrease wait times in government subsidized beds? Will they turn away those that cant pay the $40 bucks a day they charge for government subsidized clients? Are clients expected to pay for transportation an expenses to get to these centers?
Why wasnt a government ran program considered? Especially in locations like YYC where office buildings sit vacant.. I get you want to gentrify DT, push the them out.. it doesnt work.. why not use abandoned office towers as an inclusive Mental Health/Addictions/SCS?
Why did you change the four pillars to suit your needs.. ignoring science & overwhelming support of the majority of experts? Ideology has zero place when it comes to healthcare.. mental health/addictions is healthcare. Kenney has quoted Party of Esteem re Education, why not here
Party of Esteemed also includes respecting mental health as primary health, and should be included as such.. do you agree? You agree when it comes to education and trades.. do you also agree when it comes to all health, including mental health, should be treated equal?
While Im asking.. can you also explain your intent when refering to NDP governance as socialism & not social democracy.. is this a Social Credit party belief/tactic? It seems to be your go to in arguements (ad hominem).. would like to know your factual basis on why, not the spin
Please dont give me the yada yada other provinces/US states.. AB is in the fiscal position it is in because of the lack of diversification, reliance on a single revenue source, feast or famine.. we may pay more for education/health/pub. service.. for valid reason.
No Corp feels safe setting up a business outside of O&G in AB now.. when one looks at HQ in Canada, lowest tax is not the be all incentive.. they look at social aspects.. the UCP considers those socialist. Donations to recovery centres are paramount, yet.. you stigmatize.. WHY??
