All viruses can be expected to undergo some level of accelerated evolution as they adapt to a new environment such as a new host animal (humans in this case). We may/likely will see a larger number of SNPs start to accumulate in the #nCoV2019 genome than we currently see. 2/
This is not necessarily unexpected, nor is it *necessarily* scary. This is what viruses (and indeed, all biological things) do when they find themselves in a new environment. #nCoV2019 does not seem to be doing this at an abnormally high rate. /end
