All president claim credit for anything good in the economy and blame the opposition for anything bad. A true "fact check" would be that it's the business cycle going on and that presidents have almost no impact, and what impact they have won't show up for years.
Trump took credit for the fact that the US is back on top as the world's #1 oil producer. That takes over a decade to develop, which means if any president deserves credit for this, then it's probably Bush.
There's a good chance we'll be headed back into recession before Trump's presidency expires. Democrats will blame Trump, but they'll be wrong. Republicans will blame Democrats for opposing Trump, and this too will be wrong. It'll just be the business cycle.
