We took a gander at #DemDebate/#DemDebate8/#DemocraticDebate traffic for the Feb 7 debate. Volume was lower than the previous debate (peaks at 3.5K tweets/minute vs 5K), possibly due to the debate being on a Friday night. We saw little in the way of automation.

@ZellaQuixote Which candidates were discussed most during the 8th #DemDebate? @BernieSanders, followed by @PeteButtigieg, @JoeBiden, and @ewarren, with all seven participants showing up in more #DemDebate tweets than the candidates who didn't make the debate.
@ZellaQuixote @BernieSanders @PeteButtigieg @JoeBiden @ewarren Retweet network for #DemDebate etc. Traffic is split into a left-wing cluster and a right-wing cluster. The right-wing accounts focused on Biden and Buttigieg, while the left-wing accounts mostly discussed Sanders and Warren (who was behind Biden and Buttigieg in total volume.)
@ZellaQuixote @BernieSanders @PeteButtigieg @JoeBiden @ewarren Additional note on the coloration of two of the candidates' nodes in the network: @BernieSanders and @ewarren each have exactly one #DemDebate tweet from the Feb 7 debate mentioning another candidate and none mentioning themselves.
