These are Finnish volunteers who come onto the Karelian Isthmus, now the territory of Russia, to tend Finnish graves from the '39-'40 Winter War. Our afternoon report notes that Finnish activists will not let this matter rest. The loss of land to Russia is a sore point with many.

Who suffers in war? First photo, Ukrainian kids displaced by the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Second photo, Finnish kids and their moms forced out of their homes in eastern Finland. 400,000 Finns were displaced in 1940. 500,000 Ukrainians have been displaced since 2014.
