The poll that Scott Santens started is likely to be misinterpreted. It shows Bernie as YangGang's choice, but that's only after 10 rounds (with a sample size of 5000). Looking at the rounds overall, 70% of YangGang didn't choose Bernie as their 2nd choice.
While Bernie wins the ranked-choice poll, he is not doing well among Yang supporters at the moment. My takeaway from this poll, more than anything, is that there is no consensus amongst YangGang as to their second choice. Also, he came kinda close to losing to "no one."
The poll is still going, so the results may change a little, but the takeaway of "no consensus" is going to remain. You can check out the results here:

I don't like Bernie's platform, but I'm sympathetic to it. The minimum wage hike and job guarantee would basically eliminate all small businesses. As a civic republican and a proponent of geo-distributist property-owning democracy, I think that's a bad move.
At the same time, Medicare for All (M4A) plus a Federal Job Guarantee (FJG) could loosen the hold of wage slavery. We'd still be wage slaves, but we'd be relatively more free (in a liberal sense, if not in a republican sense).
I'm currently stuck with my current job. At one point, I had $30k in the bank. It would have been nice to take a year off work to find myself. But, health insurance is linked to employment & the shitty economy made finding new employment as money dwindled seem uncertain at best.

I've been reading Irving Krisol & other conservatives lately. I agree with their idea of "property-owning democracy" (widespread distribution of property ownership) as ideal. But they fall short because they fail to support any institution that fosters property-owning democracy.
Kristol falsely believes that economic growth in itself fosters property-owning democracy, while opposing progressive income tax. In reality, high top marginal income tax rates encouraged CEOs and capitalists to raise wages for their employees rather than pocketing new profits.
The progressive income tax is an institution that helps foster property-owning democracy by driving up wages and making wealth trickle down as the economy grows. Since Republicans have cut the top tax rates, wages have stopped rising and new wealth has all accumulated at the top.

Bernie Sanders has two policy proposals that are troubling: $15 minimum wage and the federal job guarantee program (JG). The first will push companies to automate faster, eliminating jobs, while the latter will help push everyone into government jobs.
If successful, I think this would mostly eliminate the private sector. So, Sanders 2.0 is actually a socialist rather than just a social democrat. This sort of socialism harks back to Louis Blanc and his JG idea from "The Organization of Labour."
But, it's a shitty form of socialism that, in the face of automation, perpetuates wage-slavery and never leads to anything like Fully-Automated Luxury Communism. By perpetuating wage-slavery, it basically perpetuates capitalism under a socialist guise.
