I'm 100% sure there is a lot to come with this Jane/Burlington College fraud story.
The short version of the story is that Jane bankrupted Burlington College though a fraudulent loan. The college purchased land from the Catholic Diocese for a price they could never afford ($10M!). She misrepresented who was backing the loan & brought Bernie's name into it.
She also got a large "golden parachute" of $200k as part of her separation from the college, after she bankrupted them.

The case against her which was, as many Bros like to point out, raised by Republicans.

That part is true. The complaint was brought up by Brady Toensing, a Trump chairman.

And, as Bros love to point out, the case against her was DROPPED.

This is also true. The case was dropped by the US Attorney for the District of Vermont.

This US Attorney, Christina Nolan, was appointed by Trump and is *from* Burlington.

I'm sure she has some opinions on what happened to this college in her small hometown.

But this does not mean Jane was acquitted.

In Trump's administration, is it common for those in power to drop cases against Democrats?

Especially cases that have so much evidence of wrongdoing?
⬇️Speculation⬇️

Everything up to this point was fact, but now for my theory.

I think that in an attempt to help Bernie become the Democratic nominee, the GOP dropped the case against his wife. They want Bernie to get the nomination....
...so they can revive this case and hit Jane with it while Bernie is the Democratic nominee.

Not a good look for the Dem candidate to have his wife convicted for fraud.
