1/ Up until now, Bernie & Warren refused super PACs in the primary. Warren, however, openly stated she'd take it in the general – but not Bernie. Today's she changed her mind. She WILL take it in the primary because all the other candidates are doing it.
2/ This is based on the false notion that grassroots organizations such as @OurRevolution and @sunrisemvmt are super PACs. They're nothing of the sort. readsludge.com/2020/02/10/fac…
3/ It turns out that Warren's "new super PAC" has in fact been in the works since at least October 2019.
4/ In last night's Democratic debate, every candidate except for Bernie said that the candidate with the most votes **should not necessarily be guaranteed the nomination**, should it become a contested convention.
5/ (I understand MSNBC scrubbed this question from its "full" video of the debate, but I'm not finding the link at the moment. Anyone have it? Will add it to the bottom of this thread.)
6/ Two years ago, Warren said exactly the opposite, reminiscent of how Hillary Clinton got millions more votes than Donald Trump in November, 2016, but lost the electoral college.
7/ In addition, two weeks ago on Feb 4th, the Warren campaign shut down all ad buys in Nevada and South Caroline. Yesterday (on the same day as the Nevada debate), it was revealed that this is because Warren's super PAC will be picking up the slack.
8/ Sure, she put on a great show when she told off Wells Fargo's CEO in 2018 for defrauding its customers for *billions*.
8/ Sure, Warren eviscerated Bloomberg in last night's debate, but does it matter? She's now choosing to be funded by people in the same economic orbit.
9/ Sure, she put on a great show when she told off Wells Fargo's CEO in 2018 for defrauding its customers for *billions*.
10/ Which resulted in what? Did the CEO **go to jail**? No. He left the company with a $24 million golden parachute. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wells_Far…
11/ Elizabeth Warren is a progressive sounding neoliberal who is trying to steal this election from Bernie Sanders – and all of us – in the second round of a contested Democratic National Convention this July. This is a darkly cynical & craven move.
12/ We must work as hard as possible for Bernie Sanders so he has as many votes, states, & delegates as possible. We must also thoroughly document every primary in order to demonstrate that he very likely got more in reality than officially. #TheTimeIsNow
The game is afoot. Warren is not your friend.
The clip where Warren says that, in comparison to Bernie Sanders, she gets stuff done, and she doesn’t just yell at people:
Warren’s website says she "disavows all super PACs" but she now interprets that as "yes, all candidates should disavow all super PACs." She maintains that this means she is still honoring her campaign promise.
.@WalkerBragman confirms that @MSNBC has excised the most telling part of the debate from its "full" recording.
According to @esaagar of @HillTVLive, Warren's super PAC was specifically configured and revealed so it wouldn't have to report it's financials until after Super Tuesday.
@esaagar @HillTVLive This thread, with some updates and reorganization, has been moved to the new @PBernardSanders account.
