Re: Tie your camel (thread)...

It is not absolutely surprising that misconception of a text could lead to a misconception in principle. Either sincerely made or deliberately to misconstrue facts, this Hadith does not represent the scenario expounded by @PenAbdull.

A Thread.
What he says lies between pessimism & trust in Allaah, and holding of As-baab (means). At best, the Hadith of Anas Ibn Malik (RA), herein referenced as "tie your camel" categorically indicates that relying on Allah has two components - taking measures & then depending on Allah.
The long narration with regards to the events that preceded the migration of the Noble Prophet (SAW) all didn't go away from this simple but fundamental concept.

Does that in any way contradicts the call of not going into marriage with a pessimist intention? @PenAbdull's call.
Anyone who does not intends mischief will understand that the message is, in no way, saying that seeking employment or pursuing your career as a woman is wrong. At best, it highlights some important concepts in Islam. For instance,
an authentic Hadith, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), the Prophet (SAW) said: “No contagion, no pessimism, no Haammah, & no Safar.” (Bukhari). Yet, in another Hadith, again reported by Abu Hurayrah (RA), the same Prophet (SAW) said:
“Runaway from a person with leprosy as you would run away from a lion.” (Ahmad and Bukhari). In his Fatwah, Sheikh Saalih Aal Shaykh (RH) said, This is because mixing with such a person is a means of spreading the sickness from a person with leprosy to a healthy one.
Interestingly, that means because leprosy is contagious (the same contagion that the Prophet (SAW) said do not exist). The ignorant one would see a contradiction in these two Hadith, which the learned scholars have already taught us do not contradict one another. Thus the need
for seeking Islamic knowledge. What the first Hadith explains is, the effect of contagion will not exist except if Allah permits. Although leprosy or any other disease that is known to be contagious can be transferred from one person to another, such only occurs if Allah wills.
This is the concept we will learn if we go further to even see a Hadith where the Prophet (SAW) even ate together with someone who has leprosy, from the same plate! although he asked people to run away from them to avoid being affected. The Sahabah learned the lesson very well.
That is why, Ibn Mas'ud (RA) once said, "Each one of us had this (i.e., pessimism), but Allah replaced it with our reliance on Him.” (Abu Daawood & Tirmidhi). Pessimism is a dangerous quality, which Allah said is only exhibited by the Kuffaar (Al-Hijr verse 56).
From the earlier Hadiths of Abu-Hurayrah & Anas (may Allah be pleased with them), we will understand that, although the Prophet (SAW) emphasized on the issue of Tawakkul, he also said we should hold unto means (Al-Akhdhu bil asbaab). This is the concept of TIE YOUR CAMEL!
This is what the Hadith says, as reported by Anas ibn Maalik (RA): A man (came to the Prophet (SAW) and said:

O Messenger of Allah, should I tie up [my camel] and rely on Allah, or should I leave it loose and rely on Him? He said: “Tie it up and rely [on Allah].”
Narrated by at-Tirmidhi (2517); classed as Hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan at-Tirmidhi (2/610). There is no difference between this Hadith and those related earlier on relying on Allah after taking the right & necessary measures. In no way did they support pessimism!
Islaam does not restrict a woman from earning her legitimate wealth as it has not restricted a man. Having financial independence by our women is a great assistance to us, because in many cases, after taking care of their own needs, they also go generous & provide us with ours.
The call by Ustaz @PenAbdull was simply to remind women that, do not go into marriage thinking that it will not work because some people's own did not work. Do not go into such an important institution with the thoughts that, "in case it fails". In most cases, it will fail.
Pessimism is a misleading and trifling concept; it does not affect in ascertaining situations because everything is under the control and decree of Allah. This is why the Noble Prophet (saw) used to hate pessimism and love optimism. SEEK FOR YOUR FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE, BUT
do not go into your marriage thinking that it will fail. Making our marriages work is a responsibility we all share (both the man & woman). That was why Sayyidatuna Faatimah (RA), she whose father is the best of all fathers to have ever lived came to her father, the Nabiyy SAW,
with whatever kind of complaint, either between her & Aali (RA)) or regarding her house, he will show his sincere concern, and in addition, he tells her to be patient in her husband's house. Let me end with this Hadith reported by Ali (RA) himself, Fatima (RA)'s husband.
Ali (RA) narrated that, Fatimah (RA) complained about the pain caused to her hand by the mill, & some prisoners had been brought to the Prophet (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him), so she went to see the Prophet (SAW) but did not find him, so she met A’ishah (RA) & told her.
When the Prophet (SallaAllhu Alaihi Wa Sallam) came, ‘Aa’ishah told him that Faatimah had visited. The Prophet (Sallalhu Alayhi Wasallam) came to us, and we had gone to bed. We started to get up, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Stay where you are.” Then he sat between us until I could feel the coolness of his foot on my chest. Then he said:

“Shall I not teach you something better than what you asked for? When you go to your bed, magnify Allaah thirty-four times, glorify Him thirty-three times and
praise Him thirty-three times. That is better for you than a servant.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3502) and Muslim (2727).

The message of Islaam is clear. Muslims might have abused it overtime due to Ignorance & wickedness, but it has never changed & will never change.
