You will see stories about the grandfather of the baby born to an 11yo survivor of multiple rapes by her brother.

You shouldn’t know their names, as those identify the girl. But you will, from irresponsible media.

You will see this presented as an immigration thing. It is not.

Incest happens in all kinds of families. The father’s status as an undocumented immigrant has nothing to do with his son’s choices to rape his daughter 100+ times & impregnate her at least once.

I message with incest survivors all the time. Most of us are white & American-born.

According to the FBI, 80%+ of incest victims are white. I was one.

Brown skin doesn’t make incest more likely. Immigration status doesn’t. Bigotry is why some will say it is.

Kids 15 and younger are the most likely to be incestuously assaulted than any other age group, according to FBI data.

For this 11yo, it started at age 9, maybe younger, according to her rapist’s estimates. That fits.

For me, it started at 4. That also fits with the data.

Feel free to debate immigration, if you must.

But an 11yo giving birth in a bathtub after repeated rapes from her 17yo brother isn’t an immigration story, just because their dad was once deported.

Because we’re the ones with an incest problem. We’re the rapists.
