Worse, Friedman (shudder)'s Dream Dem Administration pulls 4-5 Dems (+Romney) from the Senate. Does he think we don't SEE his real goal: to simultaneously ensure that the next president isn't Trump (ie, is a Dem), BUT ALSO that they can't ACCOMPLISH anything?

ALL the NeverTrumpers are doing this right now: hoping to eject Trump from office, then return things to "normal" without the GOP paying a price for having put him there.

And they're doing this under the pretense of worrying oh-EVER-so-much about "electability."

Sorry, guys. You built the party that elected Trump. We're not going to compromise and go back to affable old Reagan. There are going to be changes. You're not going to like all of them. Bummer for you. That's what you get for starting a war that you then lose.

The Never Trumpers are a little like the four slave states that remained with the Union in the Civil War. They chose the right side; good for them! But the 13th Am. freed their valuable enslaved people, too. They had helped build plantation culture, and they paid a price.

So when Never Trumpers tell you ONLY the most moderate candidates are electable, or propose outreach to Trump voters, don't necessarily ignore it, but be aware of the subtext: "yes, we helped build the Party of Trump, but we'd still like to emerge from the war scot free."
