These efforts by Trump and Fox to delegitimize both journalists and the political opposition are not unusual, as @ThePlumLineGS details here: washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/…
But particularly dangerous. The public needs trustworthy information about the coronavirus outbreak in order to make good decisions about how to respond to it. And the president is telling people that they can’t trust news outlets that aren’t in the tank for his administration.
What this also tells us -- the president will continue to let Fox dictate his responses as coronavirus spreads. That means things can still get much worse.
What happens if the outbreak worsens, and the Fox Cabinet starts telling the president anti-Trump deep state traitors are undermining him, and he needs to purge them from public health bureaucracy?
