Is it appropriate to ask whether RBG and Breyer are being maximally protected from Coronavirus?

Seriously, can the medical profession be all hands on deck, and no unwashed hands ever touching them?

Can we chip in for a sealed boy-in-the-bubble bubble for each of them?
If you think I'm just kidding, making light of a dark situation, engaging in hyperbolic humor...
That was my attitude yesterday.

Then I read this thread by a PhD in engineering and a Chem degree. And she brings the math and empirics:

This one got me. A likely scenario? I have no idea. But from her evidence, it is not implausible:

4 million US cases by mid-May...
and perhaps doubling on & on.

There just aren't enough hospital beds or medical professionals to go around as it spreads.

Whatever @SenSchumer meant, his threats are unhinged, outrageous, and counterproductive.
If Trump had said this about two judges, we'd be talking about high misdemeanors.

He should:
1. Apologize
2. Disown court packing.
2. Maybe resign as Minority Leader.
2/ Schumer is overrated anyway, now a liability.
He's been in Senate leadership for long enough.
Make @amyklobuchar or @SenatorDurbin Senate Majority Leader. Move @SenStabenow @ewarren @CoryBooker @MarkWarner @SenatorBaldwin @PattyMurray up the leadership ranks.
3/ To the many, many followers who are replying "Trump said worse" (and are saying worse back to me), you have sadly low standards for leadership, and honestly it is tragic what you've let Trump do to you.

Trump threatens judges. We shouldn't.

Twitter seems to be banning or suspending accounts belonging to critics of the Chinese government. It started yesterday May 31th. Here is one report - I noticed a sudden loss of followers yesterday, I checked, it was mainly China critics. Twitter❤️🇨🇳 Amazing! @mouse @1GigiSims
This is happening as an effort to silence #China critics ahead of the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, which is next Tuesday. Twitter is helping China do its dirty work to silence the legitimate opposition. Twitter has hit a new all time low! 👎👎👎
One other possibility that can't be discounted is that the #Chinese government is hacking into Twitter and is deleting the accounts of Chinese critics. I did hear reports in the past, that Chinese hackers were able to get into Twitter & do that.

Okay. History time!

You've probably seen photos of Commonwealth war cemeteries, with rows of white graves. They're heartbreaking images.

What you DON'T see are the thousands of small, tragic stories on each gravestone.

So I'm going to share some with you here. /1 #history #WW1
These stories exist because although every stone is similar, family members were able to pay to have a small, custom inscription made on each stone.

Which is why on Pvt J Low's grave you'll find this desperately sad inscription:

"Until we meet again. Mother." /2
Of course, the ABSENCE of anything is even sadder. Too often you'll see the nine saddest words in the English language:

"A soldier of the Great War. Known only unto God"

Those words appear when we know a body is there but not who. It was Rudyard Kipling who came up with them /3

#History/#Art thread – From my recent trip to Madurai/Tirunelveli. On Jain sites (some with a rich history dating back to at least the 3rd cent. BCE), early Pandyan rock-cut cave temples (7th-8th cent. CE) & the amazing Vettuvan koil.

Before I start on the places, the history around all this is fascinating & splits opinion. Is it apt to call the script Tamili/Tamil Brahmi? Did it develop independently in the Tamil country/come with the Jain monks from the north? Were 8,000 Jains actually impaled in Madurai?>
