I thought in 2016—and think now—that it's healthy for the Democratic primary to be a real contest between multiple candidates. So I understand folks wanting a Sanders alternative. But Biden can't carry that load; in your heart you *know* he's lost a few steps.

Warren is *ready*.
PS/ Some day— it may not be today—folks will understand that the opposition to Biden was not just based on him being a conservative Democrat who can't capture the progressive energy of the party, but on the fact that, while being a good man, he's just *not* up for this campaign.
PS2/ I love my country. I love being Democrat. And dammit, I love *Joe Biden*, even if I'm not, like he is, a conservative Democrat. But I fear what happens if the Democrats run a candidate against Trump who struggles to make himself heard and understood at key moments of debate.
PS3/ Every person I talk to says *privately* they get worried whenever Biden starts talking... not because of gaffes, but because he struggles to project his views clearly, coherently, and forcefully. They, like me, *like* Biden. They also say privately that he's not up for this.
PS4/ You're scared of this country's future under Trump, as am I. And many people I talk to right now are considering backing Biden... out of fear. They fear Trump *and* fear Sanders. But nominating someone out of fear will *always* fail. And there is still a hopeful alternative.
PS5/ I'm #VoteBlueNoMatterWho. I was in 2016; I am now. If Biden's the nominee, I'll enthusiastically support him. If Sanders is the nominee, I'll enthusiastically support him. Biden and Sanders fans *don't* say that about the other—Biden or Sanders—but *do* say it about Warren.
PS6/ When I say that my *earnest*, hopeful-not-hateful opinion is that Warren is the right choice to unify *all* Democrats and beat Trump, I lose scores of followers: Biden/Sanders fans who are angry, fearful, and yes, hateful toward those who disagree with them. That saddens me.
PS7/ But I love my country, and I worked for years as a public servant (and still work as a public-university teacher) because I love my country. I and others look down the road and we see Biden, a good man, not being ready for this fight. And Warren being ready. So we speak out.
PS8/ Whatever happens tomorrow, Democrats will find a way to hold together against Trump. I have to believe that. I also have to believe I did *all I could* to warn against—in my view—establishment Democrats pushing forward a good man whose time has, sadly, passed.

I *owe* that.
PS9/ If readers of the feed who support or—like I do—love but don't support Biden hate me for this; or if readers of the feed who supported Sanders—as I did—in 2016 but also (unlike me) support him in 2020 hate me for this, OK, I have to live with that. But I'm speaking my heart.
PS10/ Warren is the smart, wise, empathetic, charismatic, kind, generous, experienced, plain-spoken, honest, honorable, well-liked, visionary politician and *person* the Democratic Party and this country needs. She can bring people together *and* lead. I hope you'll vote for her.
NOTE/ I think you all can see that I'm trying to be delicate. I'm being careful with my language. We'll all be Joe's age one day—and you couldn't find a much better man than Joe. But I also don't want to be misunderstood: I'm *not* talking about a stutter. That's *not* the issue.
NOTE2/ My sincere thanks to everyone who's shown patience with me—99.999% of readers—this primary season. If you disagree with what I've said, I want you to know that I hear and honor and respect you.

I hope we'll be able to carry on—together—despite any transient disagreements.
