EASA remained possible aim of May deal, though no guarantees were offered by EU side. seemed less likely after Johnson deal but not formally ruled out until now. Industry thinks it’s perfectly poss to come up with strong relationship/quasi relationship. ECJ connection minimal...
Clearly any ask here would have provided EU with negotiating leverage. Shapps in article above outlines fact CAA provided much EASA leadership anyway, & opps for different regulations to allow faster adoption of new tech such as these giant drone-taxis... jobyaviation.com
That’s the point of what the industry is saying though isnt it? Eg Switzerland is a member of EASA, though not in EU nor in EEA ... easa.europa.eu/newsroom-and-e…
