What is it about women needing a distinct word to describe themselves that is so hard to understand and respect?

Women/girls are a disadvantaged group who face endemic discrimination and violence.
This is why Sex is a protected category under Equality Law.
1/
Disadvantaged groups are not a homogenous mass.
All groups who face discrimination share certain experiences and characteristics (all are human for a start).
But each group has distinct needs.
It's impossible to effectively advocate for the interests of all groups together.
2/
Different disadvantaged groups need separate advocacy.
This is obvious, surely?

Disabled people need to be able to *name themselves*, in order to advocate for anti-disablist inclusive policies - accessibility, education, healthcare, support against disablist bullying etc.
3/
Disabled activism can't be expected to include able-bodied people - even those who suffer discrimination on another basis eg race or sex.
Disabled activism is for disabled people.
The word 'disabled' = people who actually have a disability - not people who feel like they do.
4/
Disabled people shouldn't be re-named "cis-disabled" to differentiate them from able-bodied people who feel that they are disabled.

No one should support able-bodied people if they seek to rename disabled people and remove disabled rights so as to 'include' the able-bodied.
5/
This is crystal clear, surely?

Black activism can't be compelled to include white people who 'feel black'!
Black people can't be labelled "cis black" and told to acknowledge their 'privilege' over white people who feel black, whose bodies are not 'aligned' with how they feel!
6/
Why is it different for women?

Why are schools, academia, police, courts, women's orgs, charities, government depts etc falling over themselves to enable the renaming of 'woman', and the removal of female sex-based rights & protections, to include males who 'feel like' women?
7/
Women are a distinct group.
We experience particular forms of discrimination & violence on account of our sex.

Foetal abortion, femicide, FGM, abortion rights, sex pay gap, burden of care etc affect females only.
Most victims of sexual abuse, rape, domestic abuse are female.
8/
Female people need a word to advocate for the distinct, specific interests of female people.
A word that doesn't include people who are not female.
A word that doesn't tell us we're 'privileged' over male people who 'feel like' they're female.

That word is Woman.
9/
Women need rights and protections that work to counter the discriminations and violence faced on account of the protected characteristic Sex.

No one should be enabling the removal of female-specific rights & protections in Equality Law, so as to "include" males.
10/
Males are NOT women, no matter how they feel or what they say.

Males do NOT experience sex-based discrimination or sex-based violence, no matter how they feel or what they say.

Women are NOT privileged over males who think they're women.

Stop this madness now.
