DOT COTTON: Keeps going on about Spanish Flu, something she knows an awful lot about despite being born after it happened. People have started turning off the news because as soon as COVID-19 is mentioned Dot starts on about Spanish Flu again.
IAN BEALE: Has bought several hundred packs of loo roll and Kathy has had to move out of her room and sleep in the lounge coz he is using her room to store all the loo roll. Demands his family don’t tell anyone in Albert Sq about his stash of loo roll coz they’ll want in.
SHARON MITCHELL: Screamed at someone in the Vic for not sneezing in to their elbow but it was probably just grief over her dead son Denny causing her to lash out. Later cried in to her elbow.
SONIA FOWLER: If anyone mentions COVID-19 it's less than 8 seconds before Sonia has said “as a nurse”. People are tired of it. Said people stealing hand sanitiser from hospitals are “worse than murderers” which Bex said was a bit much so Sonia hasn’t spoken to her for 3 days now.
STUART HIGHWAY: Started wearing a face mask and it’s made everyone steer clear of him (even more) but he didn’t realise you have to change the face mask regularly so now he has a nasty skin rash and also he caught coronavirus scratching his eye after holding a tube pole.
MICK & LINDA CARTER: Made their own hand sanitiser to sell out of the vodka Linda had been hiding around the house before she stopped drinking. They mix it with cornflour and sell it for £5 a bottle. Ian has remortgaged his house and the restaurant to buy all of it.
JEAN SLATER: Starts screaming if she’s sees anyone coughing in public because 2 weeks after Daniel dies she stops being Brave Jean and goes back to being Screaming Jean.
BEN MITCHELL 1: Refused to go to tap class coz there’s a Chinese girl in the class and everyone is really relieved he’s not coming back including the teacher.
BEN MITCHELL 2: Weirdly links coronavirus to Brexit and says “this shouldn’t be happening, we left the EU” and won’t be persuaded otherwise on his strange links.
BEN MITCHELL 3: The angstiest Ben Mitchell when it comes to coronavirus. Thought he had it one morning when he woke up so he punched through a wall but it turned out Lola had just lit a scented candle the previous evening and he’d had a mild allergic reaction to it overnight.
BEN MITCHELL 4: Has started sleeping with a gun in his hand to shoot anyone who has coronavirus if they stumble in to his room. This will act as a cautionary tale when he accidentally shoots his own daughter who miraculously survives because he is a terrible shot.
KAT SLATER: Didn’t become a bit diligent about washing her hands regularly, she became TOTALLY diligent about washing her hands regularly.
Wash your hands regularly, everybody. Please. Because I, Sooz, can’t stop putting my hands in my mouth because I am 14 months old and I need you guys to help me.
