I was a big LBJ fan in my early teens. The Great Society. The Vietnam War ruined it all. Only the Civil Rights Acts survived. I have a budget calculator and I think just rational top-earner tax rates can do it all. I'm not sure I'd change the corporate rates.
My preference would be to force the cash out of corporations via retained earnings limitations and taxing the dividends as shareholder regular income. Encourage corporations to borrow. Makes a healthy banking sector and we can wean them off of the stock market casino.

Like Bernie is somehow disconnected from the results. Not his fault. It's not the young voters fault, let me guess? His loss is the Billionaire Class' fault?

1. Pundits often note approvingly that blacks and/or Latinos do not vote as a monolith. The Irish 🍀 figured out early that the machine (aka monolith) could move us from among the huddled masses to elected mayor in a few generations. Of course, being white made it all possible.
2. @TheDemocrats surrendered the #DeepSouth in exchange for Lyndon Johnson's Civil Rights Acts that began to make penance for America's original sin. The current black electorate is our investment in justice paying returns. @WhipClyburn
3. I applaud a black monolith backing an Irishman all committed to the common goals of justice and equality. I have nothing but optimism and hope for our future. We were faced with the challenge that could end the Republic and we are holding our ground. @TimOBrien @Mike2020
