Reduction of red tape means deregulation. That translates to removing environmental & health/safety regulations that protect workers.
And he plans to make this long term. That means permanent.
Which means there will be more devastating cuts to more vulnerable people. In the middle of a health crisis.
Reduced red tape means repeal of regulations that “impede” employers ability to profit.
Minimum wage, provision of sick days, safety/health regulations, overtime pay. That’s the “red tape” Kenney is referring to.
This translates to working for lower pay in less safe conditions to pay more in taxes for fewer services in the social safety net.
This has always been the UCP plan. From day one.
UCP has spent the last 11 months destroying the foundations of the social safety net in Alberta.
Quite Machiavellian. Take from those in need to maximize profits for the wealthy. Permanently.
Corporations are given a free ride. Exempted from tax burdens that ensure social/public programs are perpetually underfunded & ineffective.
This is anarcho-capitalism. Paleolibertarianism. Corruption and greed.
This has always been the UCP plan.
Protests are out of the question because of COVid-19.
Which means Albertans are vulnerable to UCP policies. We can’t protest. Bill 1 is about to be passed, to prevent future protests.
