The UK is increasingly an outlier in Western Europe in its #Coronavirus measures - countries from Norway to France have today announced measures going a *lot* further.
The UK is also an outlier in Western Europe in another way - the low number of its intensive care beds per head of population.
What the UK is trying to do - slow the spread - is what every other Western European country is also trying to do. But they’re being tougher in means to control, and have more resources to do it.
The UK of course *might* turn out to be right here. We don’t yet know. But the approach Johnson’s government is taking looks like one hell of a gamble.
Medical experts and political leaders in the rest of Europe are facing similar scenarios and drawing very different conclusions from those being drawn in the UK.
