Hello, Friends... With sadness, I'm writing to let you know that I've decided to cancel all my March shows. 😢 I'm at a high risk of getting seriously ill from #COVID19 because of my #disability & small lung capacity, so it seems foolish for me to say "the show must go on".

Furthermore, I want to set a good example in my community to protect others who are elderly, #disabled or immunocompromised. I'm frustrated by the message that "only the old & the chronically ill" are at risk of death, because so many people I care about are in these groups! 2/11
I don't want at-risk people to be viewed as expendable or collateral damage. We all know & care about at least one at-risk person, so we should all be limiting our unnecessary social interactions to minimize suffering... Unfortunately, I think concerts fit this description.

I'm so sorry for the late notice! I'm hoping to reschedule these shows this Fall or next Spring... I'll keep you posted as things develop! Additionally, I'm planning some online concerts later this month, so when I have ticket links available for those I'll send you details. 4/11
It would mean a lot if you would "tune in" to these concerts online, as these ticketed #virtual shows will hopefully help me to recoup some of the money we're losing from canceling this #tour.

Rescheduled dates & virtual #concert links will be here:

I'm saddened for venues & musicians right now, but I do feel strongly that we need to be shining examples of compassion & concern in our community, even if there are short term costs. Hopefully the people who care about our work will have our backs when the going gets tough. 6/11
This is a rough time indeed, but I hope the #music community can find creative ways to eek by while the world gets the spread of #COVID19 under control!

A few ideas: Maybe #venues can host not-at-risk bands for an online show (with no audience) & ticket sales could be split between venue & #artist? Or maybe artists could even do these shows from their own home & the venues could simply promote them for a percentage of sales? 8/11
Also maybe bars & restaurants can promote gift cards online so people can still support the food / drink establishments they love, even if they can't be there in person... Christmas/birthday gifts can be purchased now online to support struggling brick-and-mortar businesses! 9/11
Who knows exactly how this will unfold - but let's try to be there for each other! I hope we can all make good decisions regarding social gatherings. I'm sad to be canceling these shows, but I'll be back to your towns ASAP! 10/11
Take good care of yourself & the people you love - sending you a virtual hug until we meet again in person! 🎶❤️🤗❤️🎶

Truly,
Gaelynn Lea
