Looks like the Brexit bots 🤖 have been repurposed as the "support Boris Johnson's coronavirus approach" bots. Absolute deluges of them coming out of the woodwork. Wonder who's paying them?
Reminder: they're easy to identify because they have many of the following...
- aged profiles
- random strings of numbers in usernames
- tiny numbers of followers but huge numbers of tweets
- followers are random ie don't identify thematically with bulk of tweets being posted
For simplicity I have included human bots (ie paid shills and trouble-makers, foreign state actors etc.) in "bots" because they exhibit bot-like behaviour even though they're not bots in the classic sense ie software.

If you don't come into contact with anyone who has the coronavirus, or anything with the coronavirus on it, you *won't* get it. It doesn't arrive by magic.

So if you imagine the most extreme scenario (more extreme than reality) of meeting nobody ever, you'll *never* catch it.
Now scale that notion back, and you're looking at the kind of draconian "social distancing" taking place in Italy and some other countries.

Using logic alone, doesn't it seem to you that the spread of the virus will inevitably be dramatically slowed in such a situation?
Incidentally, the scenario in my first tweet (the "more extreme than reality one") is what some of the super-rich are practicing: they are jetting off to wilderness retreats or underground bunkers, set on isolating themselves completely for months or years.

Every successive country that implements a lockdown makes our maverick approach to the coronavirus pandemic look less sensible.

It's hubristic in the extreme to think our "chocks away, Biggles" *British* experts have access to sciencier science than the rest of the world.
Rather, "we've decided to kill more people now in the hope of killing fewer people later".

But what if - hear me out - everyone else manages to kill fewer people now AND later?

We don't get to hit rewind and choose Door B instead.
Plus I can't be the only one to know a large number of people in the "we'll kill them now" group 😱😱😱😱😱
