Just witnessed the latest #panicbuying.

Unlike the typically unhelpful tabloids (the same hypocrites who tell you to go out to work while their employees work from home) I don't want to condemn.

WHAT ARE WE FACING

Covid19 is not a Zombie Apocalypse.

Nooo, I'm not patronising you. I mean it. This isn't an overnight world ending event.

You need to pace yourself girl.
Chances are this is at least a few months and you can't go stuffing the car up each week.

Not only that, but that costs a lot of cash. And it leave a lot of cash stuck around your home.

Except that isn't cash. It's cash locked up in baked beans.

Which if you actually do need to take time off work, or get flowers for a friend, is super hard to spend.

Plus if you have non-self-limiting creatures like this around the house, you're not hoarding so much as overfeeding⏬⏬

And if you don't, my supermarket meat shelves say the food is either going off, or your freezer is already crazy full.

This isn't a good use of cash.

The way to think about this is less Usain Bolt, more Mo Farah. This isn't a run through the week all done.

It's a settle into the pace, get used to this maybe a bit scary new world, look around a bit.

Hey say hello to a neighbour. You may need them.

And the best experience from the WHO, a public institution that doesn't lie and you can trust a damn lot more than our Government, is that most people will get a mild case and be back to work in a few weeks.

Some of us won't even notice.

I'm keeping this light, but I don't want you to think I'm downplaying it. For some, it will be a hard recovery, and some sadly may not.

But if you're unlucky enough for that to be family members, even more reason not to lock up all your wages in baked beans

And if there's one thing to say. Until we can all get back to this without worrying about sanitizer or face masks, it's to look after each other.

Don't be quick to believe those shysters in the Government. They've already made this worse than it needed to be.
