UK policy is reckless: they’ve stopped population testing, contact tracing and rigorous quarantine measures - the bedrock of epidemic control and WHO advice. This will not delay but accelerate the epidemic. THREAD (1 )
And even if the epidemic does re-emerge elsewhere, Asian states have a system to control its resurgence. We don’t. Where is this best science and best public health advice coming from, when they ignore the best science from WHO? (2)
There is nothing in the WHO China Report we couldn't do: cut the test result time from 4d to 4h, mobile diagnostics, identify family clusters, isolation centres, CT scan centres, treatment units, apps for data sharing, community mobilisation to monitor the vulnerable + advise.(3)
