Trump is making decisions right now that could kill you or your loved ones and half of America doesn't care because he's "Red Team" rather than "Blue Team." When we get past this—18, 24 or 30 months from now—we're going to have to rediscover love of country because this ain't it.
1/ Trump is plotting a new diplomatic crisis with China to deflect blame for his incompetence; giving folks false hope about vaccines; spreading misinformation about coronavirus at briefings he doesn't need to be at; and spreading hate against Asian Americans via racist rhetoric.
2/ Trump is refusing to assist states in getting ventilators; attacking governors whenever they (rightly) criticize any element of the federal government's response; and spending more time rewriting history (as to his coronavirus response) than spreading good advice to Americans.
3/ He continues to use an "America First" strategy with respect to testing kits and everything else that is keeping us well behind other countries in testing, and he is draining critical resources from all levels of government by spreading confusion and lies that others must fix.
4/ That this crisis is well beyond Trump's capabilities—his intelligence, empathy, leadership ability and ability to communicate—is now universally evident, but Red Teamers are so focused on the next election (not whether they or their loved ones will die) they defend him anyway.
5/ With one voice, Americans should be telling this man to get off our TVs, offer every type of assistance he possibly can to any state leaders who ask for it, and give up supervisory authority over the different elements of the federal government's response to *actual experts*.
6/ Wanting Trump to succeed in leading the United States during this outbreak—which I do—means, paradoxically, telling him to *get out of the way* and *stop playing politics* and *stop lying* and *start trusting experts* and *stop creating new melodramas with him at the center*.
7/ There are indications that Congress is learning to work together; that the right experts are positioned atop the federal government's response; that testing is ramping up; that accurate information is getting out.

And then Trump steps into things, and everything gets *worse*.
8/ There are some who say that Trump is slowly starting to "get it"—to be a better leader today than he was a month ago.

It's too late. He had over three years. Now's *not* the time for on-the-job training—or for America to wait patiently for Trump to catch up from *way* behind.
9/ Thousands of Americans—repeat, *thousands*—are now contracting the coronavirus daily, according to Worldometers data. Our death toll is now sixth in the world—and climbing. It's time for us to rally around those who *know* what's happening, and *ignore* empty suits like Trump.
10/ Those in major media calling on Trump to resign or not run for re-election haven't paid attention to the man—neither of those things will happen. All we can do now is sideline him—to mitigate the damage he's causing—and then elect a new POTUS during the next general election.
