Things to remember: fascists are incompetent but rely on media to hide their mistakes, they’re incapable of actual governance and use intimidation, fascism can happen anywhere and at any time, including and especially America, which has a history rife with fascism.
Trump is, by the very definition of the term, an authoritarian. His support and rise are based in the dark part of American history we were mostly never taught. Our myths hide a really sinister past, but now, as he stokes racial anger, we have to recognize how we got here.
People are in denial about Trump being an authoritarian and the danger he poses to our country because they are still steeped and lost in these myths. It's beyond time people read the real history, make the actual connections, and understand just how dire this moment is.
